AIA/IDCE Training

Thursday, September 27, 2018

Metro Lighting
2240 San Pablo Ave
Berkeley, CA 94702

Max Pierson, of Minuscule Lighting, and I have been working on a new AIA/IDCEC (2 LUS) approved course to show how thoughtful use of lighting can express and enhance the architectural statement. Max describes the content as “less about the technical metrics of lighting and more how to integrate light in architecture, as both a functional and artistic endeavor.”  This course will present the layers you can use to add depth and subtlety to your architectural composition, and I will be presenting some exciting updates in LED technology that can improve occupant satisfaction and comfort. Course participants will conclude the class with a hands-on activity to put these ideas into practice.

What you can expect to learn:

  1. The 4 lighting layers used to enhance the design of architectural spaces

  2. Ways that lighting contributes to making built projects look 3 Dimensional

  3. Advances in LED lighting technology

  4. Applications of all 4 lighting layers to illuminate a space using a hands-on example

Participants are eligible for 2 AIA/IDCEC LUs.

Please mark your calendar for the next presentation of the course on September 27th at the Metro Lighting showroom located at 2240 San Pablo Avenue in Berkeley, California.
